Spring RTS Engine

This is seriously insane. I don't have a problem with DSD, but the way the dynamics of the lobby work, people get stuck in DSD-only games because a bunch of people will get on such a server and then keep playing it over and over and over and noone can move off and get a sufficient critical mass going. I'm chatting with three legitimate newcomers to Spring right now who are frustrated and want to quit Spring because people don't play anything else.

Again, I don't mind DSD being played regularly, but DSD-only hosts are part of the cancer that is killing spring

Start with the heart of the cancer, ban [LOeT]Paste.

And yes we all totally agree with you, but the admins will never do anything about it.

Well and alot of rages will give... if X mod is now popular and gets banned there gives rage bout too

From my point of view you are, too. First: you lie. Atm there is only one DSD-only host. There is a second called DSD host but hosting a different map. There is a NO-DSD host. There are many other ONLY hosts (e.g. duck, greenfields....).
Second, you won't change anything by censorship and telling players what they can play. Most players play spring in their free time and you want to dictate the way they should do that. Good luck with that.
Third, the time you waste on posting here you could host (or use on of the free autohosts) a game that you like and announce it in the lobby. Many have raged about DSD hosts so you should be able to find some players. Be patient.

Exactly. An old limited mod with models from last millennium that doesn't use most of the engine features. New players get a bad impression when they play BA so they won't try any of the newer mods.

I still don't get how people get so caught up in lowering settings for this shit. I am specing a game with the same settings I use in gundam with no issue.

*edit* who fucked up the intimidator animation?!?

MTR. DSD is less than 30% of all game time.
