Another idea-- a graphically simple port of TA Spring to the nintendo DS. Opens up access to millions of people, the thing has built in WiFi and the touch pad can be used to control units, with the minimap on top

haha thats awesome.
DS version could just maybe have the units rendered as squares then if pixels are a problem(wait what does that 2000-something limit entail anyway?); its not like you can really see their details from far away anyway.
like, tanks are a block with a rectangular turret, kbots are just blocks, maybe kbots could further be simplified and the number of units reduced to improve on memory usage, like kbots are only peewees and mortars or something. planes are triangles of different sizes, tanks could just be different sized blocks with a simple skin applied on them to tell them apart.

also the D-Pad on the DS would be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for direct unit control--- it could be made the same fashion as Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 or Robotron 2084, from a topdown perspective, using the dpad to move and maybe the stylus to rotate the turret and fire it.
is there any way currently to direct control a unit with the keyboard from top down third person? i thought i had seen it from a video once but maybe it was just great micro-- that would be perfect for peewee rushes
also are there any widgets to improve formations? like making a square formaton, delta, i know you can do line formation by draggign the move command but thats all i know

Great job! You've come up with an idea!
Now it's time to make it a reality!
Here is
the source to the Spring engine. If you don't understand it right away, don't worry! You can learn all about computer programming and C++ (the language Spring is written in) with
this tutorial! Easy, right?
Once you've got a good understanding of how Spring works, you can port it to DS! Here is
some info to get you started.
Good luck! Be sure to tell us when you're finished!
I can't wait to be playing Spring on my DS!

Sounds good, but before you tell other people about the game please stop calling it "ta spring." It was renamed to Spring like four years ago.
