A Bit of Help?

Hi guys. I'm really new to the whole business of Spring (it seems to be pretty awesome though!), in fact, I only installed the engine and a couple Total Annihilation variants earlier today. I have one question though.
I seem to recall reading about a Star Wars game that was released at some point in the past for Spring. I don't actually remember where I read this, or when (it might have been as far back as a year ago), but now I can't find hide nor hair of it, and I'm wondering if I am misremembering or falling prey to wishful thinking.
I know about Imperial Winter, but was there ever (possibly another) Star Wars game that had a public release? If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

hi
You are probably thinking of the Spring port of the old TA Star wars mod. If so:

Thanks for the link.
A quick question though...does that version not work with the current version of Spring? As far as I know I've installed it correctly but it doesn't appear in the list of games, even after reloading maps & games.

Yes, there is no official working version of SW:Spring (or whatever) for the current engine version... it is technically possible to get older versions of the Spring engine but I wouldn't recommend it.
also, it is the same "project" as Imperial Winter... they just have closed down the project to be "invite only" until it's more ready for public consumption.
For a long time there was a SWTA site on planetannihilation.com that had the old (pre-spring) Total Annihilation Star Wars Total Conversion which would have presumably been compatible with TA3D ... if you could find the old SWTA 5.0 files somewhere on the internet and try them in
TA3D that might be what you are looking for.

You're not recommending he get an older version of Spring, and instead advising him to grab TA3D and try running SWTA? All you alright?

If he wants to play a stable version of SWTA then yes, that is exactly what I'm doing... if you can recommend a stable version of spring capable of playing SWTA:Spring 1.0 (or whatever it was called) and provide him with simple instructions on how to do so (keeping in mind that he likely wants to play against an AI or human player and not just to muck about with the units) then feel free to do so.

If I remember correctly, SWTA ran alright on the .76 series. Try that!
