Has anyone ever shat on a bench, wiped it around a bit, ripped off part of the wood, torn it into splinters, and driven the splinters under their fingernails?
I hear its analogous to playing Magicka.

Is it out yet? Is there some demo?
Edit: Yes.

Chapparal is playing it, I believe.

Just tried the demo. I like the "potential" here, but I find it a bit cumbersome. A lot of different things all having their own situation and way to deal with it.
That and my years of diablo tell me to click on monsters to kill them. Not shift click.

Satirik, I've never heard of it before you mentioned it in this thread, but it could be good.

I picked it up. Very buggy, but pretty damn fun even with only two players.

It's a Diablo clone? What's the hook?

Its a Gauntlet clone with a spell creation system.

You have eight basic forms of magic you combine to produce different effects, ranging from sustained beams to upward blasts. There are also explicit complex spells that require specific orders of forms to cast, like the Revive spell or Haste. You can use any form on yourself as well as directionally, and status effects impact what spells you can cast.
At one point you fight druids who can summon treants. I don't know if the druids summoned the rain or if my ally did - it is an explicit complex spell we did have access to - but suddenly my electrical chain attacks were harming me and I couldn't project them to other creatures. I had to switch to arcane + fire to channel a line of flame, then come back to cast nullify, which cancelled the rain and may have killed some treants. After I dried off by casting the basic fire form on myself - and taking damage - I could use lightning safely again. Of course, I didn't, arcane + fire being considerably more effective. One boss required I focus on upward attacks - the only one I was familiar with required water + fire to produce steam.
It is derivative, but I really think we overuse the term "clone". It bears some similarity to Gauntlet, Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords or Diablo in that it is a cooperative adventure game with limited RPG elements and a fixed camera.

the best thing about recent gauntlets (for me at least) was to play them on the tv with a group of four
i wish they still made ones like that; the last one i played was the latest xmen legends, and it was too damned easy

I too would like to see a game like the PS2 and n64 Gauntlet games (or their arcade equivalents) come out for modern consoles... there have been near matches though (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Ma ... ave_Danger for example).

somehow i managed to play that monster game without realizing it could be multi-ed on a single console o.O
my last favourite of the genre that i can remember was champions of norrath: realms of everquest but i realize ofc that its a ps2 game; its been a while
there was a sequel but it was trash

bought it too, only played in solo, it's cool, but it seems there aren't "thousands of spell combination"

I've bought it as well... guess I'll give it a try tomorrow night...
Not sure why it costs 9.99Ôé¼ at Steam for me... and 9.99$ for Israelis... seems a bit unfair

tried it with a friend and it's buggy, the game desync 75% time when i die and we have to rehost rejoin and restart the chapter

but the game is way better in coop than in solo, when it works it's fuckin good
