Game Host

Hai.

I've got a problem.(obviously)
Well, before the latests updates, people could join and play the game I've hosted just perfectly. Sadly, those good times are behind me.

People are now unable to play my game. I haven't changed anything within my internet connection, router or its settings. The only thing which changed is the springs version.

I would like to know if theres any fix.

Ofcourse I can use relayhost. But the quality of those... erm

Thanks in Advance
regards
sword

Needs more detailed description of what problem people have to join your game.

What's wrong with relay hosts?

What do you mean by 'more detailed description'
People simply can't join the game. When I set nat travestal to hole punching they get an error, And time out when we start.
When i set None, they dont have any errors, just drop while starting.

And about relay hosts, limited maps, and I find them laggy.

Relay hosts are only limited to the maps you yourself already have. You seem to be confusing them with autohosts?

can you host a game, and then upload here the script.txt and infolog.txt located either in the spring dir or in my documents/my games/spring

Alright.

Also, the error my friend had while entering the battleroom was:

Code: Select all

Failed to punch through NAT playing this battle might not work for you or for other players

Just forward your ports through your router. Takes all of 2 minutes and is reliable whereas nat transversal is iffy.

If you're on windows, try zklobby (comes with your spring installation). All hosting you do on zklobby is by relay host.

But none of the relays are in the US, so if you're in the US, youir ping to the relays is shit.

If it didn't work, then you didn't do it right. There is no arguing that point which is kinda O_o because port forwarding is about as easy as multiplying 5 * 5.

make sure you've set the option on the right of the checkbox to "automatic"

if you had given the error message in first post, that would have saved some time..
when using spring lobby to host you can also change the relayhost by clicking the automatic button or something, then a menu appears. I think one option for EU is finnland or sweden.
