Exceeded maximum allowed number of login attempt on forum

For a few days, whenever I log into the forum, I'm having:
Code: Select all
You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to enter the confirm code from the image you see below.
Is someone attempting to steal my nick?

I have also experienced this in the last few days. Does that mean bots are trying to get into our accounts or just a new forum bug.

I'm hoping the latter, but we're looking into it. I received a few private messages about it.

If that "stupid shit" was gotten rid of, then a spambot would have gotten hold of your account. Is that what you want?

You mean it hasn't already? How would we know if Forb was replaced by a spambot?

This is annoying. If bots are trying to log in, it should block only those IP addresses.
Another annoyance is that it only can remember the login on one computer. If you try with a second one, it will forget the first.

You're saying a spambot could hack my forum account? My forum password is 14+ characters, mixed lower and uppercase with numbers and symbols. Not fuckin' likely.

I think the capcha explisitly states that zero - "0" is not used. So it should always be an "o".
