IIRC, the basic mapconv had a bug/bad algorithm/something that stopped it doing large maps. SharpMap had better algorithms, but is now out dated. Go pester Buggi for an update. But a 24x24 map is large, and you could easily have run out of memory. How much do you have? Looking forward to the map if you do get it compiled, I like huge maps!

I've had no problems with my 24 x 24 maps, and I only have 1 gig of ram...

(Your not trying to make a 48 x 48 are you? some people thing map dimentiuons are 1024 x 1024 a screen not 512 x 512 a screen... and hence make maps twice the size thinking its half!)

Hey, I have a weird problem with the 24x24 size too. Corrosive Pits is a 25x25 map, but when you play it in-game, you'll see that the very last "1" map unit has no texture (meaning that only 24x24 of the map is textured), although the terrain still exists. Download the map to see what I mean. Since I don't know what the problem is, I can't really fix it and update my map (which also needs the maxmetal value to be doubled, but that's a small issue).
