How can I switch off the alarm that sounds every time a unit gets attacked off-screen? It's really loud and annoying.

It's annoying because during a large battle it goes off every 20 seconds.

It might just be XTA. I've not played Spring for years and I just installed it on my new PC. XTA is the first one I loaded.

springsettings.exe has sliders for master volume, unit volume, ui volume and stuff.
might want to play with those.

I have but they don't seem to effect it.

IMO you should keep it. I agree with Wombat - the alarm IS a life saver. When I play on mute, there are numerous times I wonder where my units went, and then I have to listen to my ally make a fuss about bombers / nukes / airdrops / combomb / bertha / etc destroying my base earlier.

Lol, you're trying to change its mind instead of helping.

Nevermind, I've fixed it. I just found the wav file in the XTA archive and made it shorter and quieter.

Note that changing any files in a gamefolder, even sounds, will prevent you from playing online.

if the sliders in springsettings.exe really do not work, then thats a bug. i have spring sound very low (because DGUN! BRRMRMRMRMRMM!) so i dont know.
