not sure if those count as press as most were probally done by the creators/devs themself:

http://megagames.com/freeware/pure-free-full-game-rc2

spring on flipcode:

One german article about Evolution RTS:

http://www.pro-linux.de/news/1/16729/fu ... d-gtc.html

and a other site embedded the video:
golem.de (german it-news site)
http://video.golem.de/games/4429/evolut ... ailer.html

(sorry, no article, maybe the'll make one...)

after a bit searching, there are many more linking to the trailer:

http://www.holarse-linuxgaming.de/news/ ... lution_rts
[...]

what makes me a bit happy is, they all wrote: spring is a engine and evolution rts is a game :)

I'm guessing it's been long enough now that they won't care

Actually kaiser is working on a little graphic animation thingy that we'll be putting into our videos that will do a stunning job of making that point quite clear.

so why doesnt he post it? :regret:

Finally some articles that are not total fail :)

Appearently the article/video started this thread in a german forum:
http://www.bsdforen.de/showthread.php?p=222703
(start post: he liked the article/video, recognized that its the Spring engine, then describes how to use rapid on FreeBSD. Didnt play so far, "just build 2 units for testing" by playing over spring.exe vs KAIK.
Then they wonder if evo is "free" or "open source" and decide on GPLv2+ for spring engine and Creative Commons License for evo.
(Appearently it wasnt clear if just the evo website or the whole game were under that license until they found a .pdf in the svn.))

The comment on the golem video reads:
Das Spiel ist immer noch nicht fertig. Es gibt einen stable release, aber der ist immer noch sehr Beta. Vielleicht kommt ja bald was "fertiges".. The game is still not finished. There is a stable release but it is still very beta. Perhaps there will be something "finished" soon.

I think with an article the trailer "works", the video alone does not seem to give enough information/attract players who expect an easier Installation etc.

Go to any page on the evo mainsite, scroll down and look at the footer. The license is plastered all over the place.

Evo site footer wrote:This work is licensed under a
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 United States License.
If i see a license reference in the footer of a website, i neither would assume that the software available from that website uses the same license.

Yeah I can understand that. Where should I put it? It's in svn, and in the game when it gets downloaded.

End users does not see/know SVN and in download is too late if you are
Very precise. So I would put it
On the download page.
