Smaller Mod

So I was just thinking that a smaller balencing mod might be a good idea...

one building for planes and seaplanes, one floating building for boats and hovercraft, one building for kbots and veicles and hovercraft, one for gollies/krogoth/special units...

commander can build all buildings in the game including the special buildings... basic contruction units can build what will be defined as level 1 buildings advance contruction units can build what will be defined as level 2 buildings... only 2 levels...

what are concidered basic units will require no metal to build, just energy, advanced units will require much metal to build so this will be how we prevent people from jumping strait to the second tech level while letting people start with good defences and rushing capability... but forcing people out of their corners to get any second level units (metal makers will require metal to build to force people not to hole up too small)

Only one team, all the units they are just copies will be eliminated...

You like?

if you extend this post (make it huge) and discuss balance more in-depth sure. i think i could grow to like it but it would need a lot of beta testing b4 hitting the public (as the only good thing bout this mod is balance it WILL have to be balanced!)

Thing is... porcing is bad... but setting up a well defended base and protecting heavy weapons is important... so you need a defenses... you just can't rely only on them...

Step 1 is acctually getting myself together all the units in XTA (I think this would be a good base cause it has more units to start with and the whole slopes effect different classes differently thing...) has anyone managed to find this stuff..? big old list of all units and their "CORKROG" style name-tags?

Yay for command prompt. cd to the units folder of XTA, then put in this:

find /I "name=" *.* > List.txt

And open the created list.txt file. That's just a lesson for the future, though, since I'm not totally cruel. Here's the list:

You people are whiners. Click this link for the list.

It's only a matter of time before some idiot decides to post the entire source for Spring or something like that, just to say they did. Not that Gnome is an idiot, I just mean that this is a little absurd, and it'll eventually become more absurd.

gnome dude, do you not have some webspace so you can post that as a link rather then dumping 5 billion lines of code into the forums?

[edit] BTW, I still need that unit statistics list... if you grab me on IRC I can get you an email adress you can send it too, or just post it in the thread I made like you did with this. Or even just tell me how to access it myself.

No, I do not have any webspace.

Those are just all the ones on the TAU server :P

Anyway, linkified the list. You whiners.

I still need to prod Wolfy to know how the new parser works, once I find out I'll get it on UU and tell you.

Nothing is happier then an appeased whiner!

Well, accept maby a pervert killing puppies... but that's neither here nor there.
