Ubuntu 10.10 support?

Sorry for being so noobish I haven't had a lot of time lately and was wondering why there have been no updates for Ubuntu for the engine or springlobby.

I tried compiling from source but for some reason am only able to build 0.82+.4.0 and cannot build current version.

Also springlobby does not save settings and opens up "you must be new" every time. springlobby used to be quite decent on linux what has happened to it?

I'm becoming both frustrated and disappointed as I do not have much free time until my finals are over and don't want to spend what little time I do have trying to fix frustrating problems. If I have missed something please point me in the right direction, thanks.

Overly dramatic much?
Verify permissions of ~/.springlobby or try to run

Code: Select all

touch /tmp/meh.conf ; springlobby -f /tmp/meh.conf
repeatedly to check if the probem is with your setup, or if it's indeed a bug in SL itself.

Hi all,

I post here because since last update of spring (few days) i'm not anymore able to play spring.
I m under ubuntu 10.10 and use ppa:spring/ppa to get the install : i can get the spring and spring-common packet (version 0.82.7), but when selecting springlobby (0.118) packet i get an error "need spring-engine packet" and when selecting the spring-engine packet (0.82.6) i get an error saying i need sping packet :? Is there versioning problems ? (i tried to switch packet version without succes) or something i miss or i should know ?

Thx...
