Spring RTS Engine

I'm sure it has been asked, but I can't find any useful posts about how to create a tech tree. Can anyone help? I need the game to require you to have a certain structure to build another. Reasearching to build a structure would also be good. To make it harder, I'm fairly new to the spring engine so it would be good to be as simple as possible. I'm sure many other people would benefit from this script.
