OpenSuse Repository - No Update

Hello Guys,
I am new in spring and i am sad, that my first post here is a complain.

Why nobody is updating the repository of OpenSuSE? I am wating for 2 weeks now, if there is an update available, tha i can play online again.

If you offer OpenSuSE repository for the installation of spring, your should keep the software there up2date.

Thanx
Sven

please contact the Spring OpenSUSE packagers:
http://springrts.com/wiki/Linux:Packaging#OpenSUSE

If you can not reach them, you may choose to take over packaging for OpenSUSE yourself, or compile spring from source for just yourself:
http://springrts.com/wiki/Build_from_source

Please understand that we do not have one person to rule them all (distributions). We can not guarantee latest spring packaged for all distros, and due to the nature of everything, deceased package maintainers will not come back and delete old packages.

Hey,
thanx for the quick answer.

sure, i would not write here, if the package would be 1-2 days too late. but it seems its about a month now.

I have contacted Agon now, i saw his name there. We will see, if the will answer.

Sven

if none of the packagers will answer, and you really care, you have to get packager yourself. or.. use other ways to get to spring, like on xyz's link, or compile yourself.

it is like in matrix. you know.. when he gets out of it, and sits in the dining room for the first time, together with the rest of the crew. the room is ugly, cold, rusty. the food is always the same, looks ugly, has this baby-food consistency to it. now you have to discover the beauty of that live, and believe me, it is there. it may take some time till you really find it though.

I'm in the process of updating accAgon's package to 0.82.6.1 now, in home:wstephenson:branches:home:accAgon in the OBS.

Hey, I updated the packages. I didn't get an email for PMs. Need to look into that, I thought I would get them :S . Anyway updated and I am sorry for the delay. I don't hang around spring that much anymore.

Edit: I had an very old email address in my account settings which doesn't exist anymore. I changed it. I should be notified on future incoming PMs.

you need at least GLEW 1.5.1. we have a check for that in our CMake scripts now (master and next release).

All right, thanks. I am changing the requirements.

Was the change from spring-engine-dedicated to engine-dedicated intended?

the target name, yes.

to build the engine binaries:

Code: Select all

make engine-default
make engine-multithreaded
make engine-dedicated
make engine-headless
to build everything required to run a game:

Code: Select all

make spring-default
make spring-multithreaded
make spring-dedicated
make spring-headless
to install everything required to run a game:

Code: Select all

make install-spring-default
make install-spring-multithreaded
make install-spring-dedicated
make install-spring-headless

sounds like your mommy has forbidden you to build stuff on your own.
but ... well ... that's what real men do! grow up kid!

or go whining to one of these:

take my bitching like a man: say "yes mam!"
