New XTA unit?

Peeper Mk II
20% more LoS than peeper
racing stripes (;D)
flares
to help break those mid game stalemates :) and be good for distracting AA whilst ur attack planes tear up ur enem
make it cost 2/2.5x the cost of a peeper with 3-4x the build time and a bit more HP
XTA is always evolving and i think a unit like this would be really cool

I can help you with that...
I actually wanted to make an assault scout of some sort, better LOS, flares, better speed, etc.
Mind if it's gonna be named something else?

maybe as a mobile unit! (force them to go to your mobile artillery or get BLoD weapons :D (or get their own repulsor :D)

the actual adv. radar plane needs to have at least 3 flares, this is kinda missing since hawks/vamps got upgraded this planes should have them too.

hey ground_zero, since few or no other xta units have this, why not give the plane foreward-swept wings? i think it would look really cool

and fast.

Another thing that is imho missing are mobile naval anti-nukes. Nukes are a lame termination of naval battles.

radar planes shouldn't have flares as they are ALWAYS out of the action! and tbh they don't need them!

Simple melee units shouldn't be a problem. I did dozens of them for TA:K some years ago. The TA:K scripts are very similar compared to TA. And you could add many different attack animations for one unit. The only thing is that you can't make melee units block other melee attacks. This would really rock! Some kind of check would be needed: Is the other melee unit attacking me? Is my unit heading towards the attacker? Then a about 40% chance for blocking, a blocking animation and everything would be fine.

Maybe the new scripting could handle this *cough* *hint*

Nah, peeper, at a later stage become really usless...so a better tool for scooting is a good idea.

thanks for the support guys! :) maybe we could have a petition to include it in xta? although it will still be the SYs choice of course
do you think what i've written is good? any more balancing needed? didn't want a fast BT so its not a OP distracting unit (although it will still be useful in a hawk swarm or w/e) but nice low m cost and high e cost to make it useful mid/late game =)
the forward facing wings would be awesome ground zero

Why exactly would this be needed? If you want radar coverage use eagle, if you want fast scouts use hawks.

cheaper than hawks, better LoS, faster to build, but no weapons. a real specialist unit
