Dynasty Warriors Online

So I'm not sure how people in this community feel about DW. I imagine there's a lot naysayers but I'll speak anyways.
The open beta for Dynasty Warriors Online recently opened up. The game will be free anyways, but I guess they're wanting to work out some bugs. Me and two of my friends (who have been loyally playing DW and most of it's offshoots since middle school) have recently been trying it out, and the consensus is that it's actually fun.
The parts that aren't the battles are a little clumsy and sterile, but the battles are interesting. There are of course tons of peons to fight and kill, and combat seems to usually center around capturing bases. There are different kinds of bases to take (some require you to kill x number of peons, some require you to kill all of the base captains) and the bases serve as respawn points for players (both enemy and friend) So naturally the game boils down to defending/attacking the bases. The battles I've been in so far have been relatively short (I think they are 10 minutes) and if no side can win, the victor is decided by number of kills by all the players.
Gameplay is naturally pretty action oriented (especially for what is being passed off as an MMO) and if you enjoy the DW formula you'll probably enjoy this. Give it a try, it's free, it's not huge, it's not that demanding.
