I play when it is the best thing I can get, i.e. when Aegis, BD or Pintle are playing.

xta used to be fun, but even cox rage after losing the game was getting boring fast

CoX didn't rage, we just expressed our views of the previous game in a way most people found aggressive and abusive, yet was actually only intended as light hearted banter.

Oh, and. Not really. Hermuld/cirakon/some other finnish people and Deadnight sometimes play, but that is about it.

Haven't been on spring so much recently as I have been quite busy, but I would definitely be on more if I knew ppl were playing XTA more.

Tbh tho, babs no longer perma hosting, no TMO, no bartopia, is Ray still playing? A lot of the more experienced players are not around so much, and stomping newbs got old circa 2008. The newer build has some much needed fixes, but also has its own share of problems (lolraven, com default to maneuver= WTF? )

I *really* miss the good old days of RoX vs CoW vs KnoX. If any of these FX/SiN newbies (or any other joke clans for that matter) wanted a 2v2, I could try to summon Babs, Knorke, or IK for a bit of 2v2 hilarity, just drop me a forum pm or post here or something.

Altho tbfh, I experienced so much hostility and agression from BA players over the years, and watched so many BA players join, E excess at start, make llt, m stall, get raided, QQ mod is imba, never play again, the empirical evidence is massively stacked to imply that 90% of ppl coming from BA will play like shit, and be super arrogant about it.

Nevertheless, I am consistently polite and helpful to these players (both in giving tips, if they want them, and in helping out more directly in the game). Reason XTA has very little play is that most people are morons who prefer BADSD8v8YAY!

But yes, I am teh ubar leet, you all suxxorz, do not even try to play XTA as your fail will only serve to detract from the awesome glow of my god-like might, return to your "Balanced" stumpy spam, and bother me no more!

In what way is that suggesting that I perceive myself to be "pseudo-pro"? For that matter, who would ever suggest they were Pseudo pro in the first place? Pros get payed; 90% of XTA players really don't give a shit, and play for luls.

I have to agree with wombat. Your needs are contradicting: You want new players to keep the game alive but in the same time you are very hostile to even those players who possess skills at some level. No wonder that noobs change to more noob-friendly mods.

I can remember many cases where I got attacked and bullied because I did half-assed job in the game - not that I would have played bad, but because I didnt bother to give all I got. What the heck, Im retired and I dont want play it for sports, but for fun.

To be honest, that isnt actually giving much interest to join for another game. If im not wanted, then Im not.

So, admit it: You just want to play with the small elite group, but now when even those have left, you are crying back for those you ridiculed while ago.

Then by all means, you fix the balance and I'll fix other technical issues.

Current un-upgradeable commanders have several weapons that are enabled as commanders gain more experience. Since one of those weapons is the satellite strike from Satelight Commanders, which has a lot of range, commanders on manuver will engage targets within the range on that weapon, even if it's disabled. That is an engine related problem. I will add commanders to hold position units for next release. If you use upgradeable commanders (just change mod options when hosting) you'll have the same old behaviour you where used to before changing the default starting commander. Since XTA players are too lazy to change any of the mod options, they'll rather whine than do an extra mouse click.

lol I remember that game. ansik (who wasn't a "pro") died to like 4 peewees and I'd been up about 30 hours and was playing a map I hate with a passion

I do agree about some players in xta being very hostile...Shift an Babbles were good examples.
Some others as well...noobs got thrashed..or were told to go spectate a few games first which is insulting and an annoying suggestion for a newbie.

Every game in which either shift or Babbles or both lost was followed by 20 minutes of post game bickering and insulting.

And in the final days before the current player-less era, those 2 were the players playing the most...

Im not too lazy to change mod options (i always used to try and get com morph changed, and always used lua kill all coms end condition) you just cannot change mod options on autohost or relay host.

I wasn't implying that the old XTA clans were better than other players, they were actually mostly worse. Thing is they were nice people to play with, you know, not super aggressive e-peen waving BA players... I never implied in that statement they were better, keep building your straw man tho, you are getting closer to having some sort of coherent objection to what I said.

Arrogancy is not a word, you are looking for arrogance, I never blamed BA players for my personal characterisitics, I dunno where you got that from. I cited the fact that the majority of BA players who try XTA get very (vocally) frustrated, and do tend to play quite poorly, which is true, based on my extensive experience.

I don't get where you have this impression that I think I am awesome at Spring from. I'm not bad, but considering im high 90% of the time im logged in, it's not like I even try to play competitively, let alone see myself as the best.

You seem unable to grasp the distinction between percieving somebody in a certain way, and treating them with or without respect. I can see somebody is a clueless noob (often do) but I don't hurl abuse at them or disrespect them. There is a huge difference there, don't know if you chose to ignore it because then its easier to criticise me, or you are just that dumb.

You are basically completely confirming the stereotype of egotistical aggressive BA player, desperate to score points in some forum duel, or for someone to jump on your flamebait. I'm still looking for a job, I could do this all day if you want, and like I said, I have taken much more cutting, intelligent and funny trolling through spring than you have offered so far.

I can exaggerate too, every time I play SA Basic haxes the teams so he's on the best one. And to be fair, I usually got annoyed because I was put with 3 people with 30k+ ingame time each who sat around doing nothing whilst my enemy resorted to comm bombing my base.

shift and babbles stop playing -> spring dies. Bitching cox were the best thing about xta lets be honest.
