Hello!
I am using Kubuntu 10.04 and springlobby client. i cant login since yesterday, the chat dont give me any response messages about what went wrong while connecting.
Could it be possible that the official server is down ?

I installed springlobby on windows and it works there. Even reinstalling on linux didnt help anything, somebody has an idea whats the problem ?
The verson of Springlobby i use is 0.105, its not the newest one but the only one available at the package repo.
Please can someone help me to figure out the problem?? If you use 0.105 and have no problem at all please tell me !
I doubt its because of the version but who knows.

Me again, i solved the problem now, if someone has the same problem :
I tried to ping the official master server if its online, but couldn't reach it, then I tried it with a ping tool from the web (so the pings were not sent from my pc) and the server answered. after that i tried to ping the ip address (instead of using the host name) and that worked ... i am really confues, it looks like my ISP's DNS dont let me look up the host name, but why is it then working on windows?
To get it work just open springlobby.conf and change the host name entry to the ip adderss, i know, ip addresses can change, and host names are therefore to point to the actual ip but what else can i do. i am happy it works now, but strange thing. Must be something with linux (but i dont have firewall/iptables activated).

so it seems like a problem with your internet settings or something?
you can try looking at your windows hosts file, it stores urls <-> IPs there, google for it i dont know excact name.
maybe there is some strange entry.

just open springlobby.conf and change the host name entry to the ip adderss
this means you have dns problems.. set a manual dns server like opendns?
