Please update the mod tutorial(s)

Hello, I'm new to spring rts mod. I just followed the Simple Mod Tutorial to make my first mod. However, the first unit would not be spawn when my game started. I spent much time to find the problem, finally found this.
So, please update the tutorial(s) in time, after each major change of the engine. It's really important and very helpful to newbies. Thank you!

Or update it yourself when you find out something is outdated. This is not a commercial site/project. It is a community driven open source environment. As such, the responsibility for editing the wiki falls on the shoulders of the person(s) noticing things are out dated. Most of us who know how stuff works are actively busy with our own works. As such we are not constantly revisiting the getting started guide. The devs are busy enough updating pages detailing engine features.

SOOO you new guys who are trying something out, finding it doesn't work and then asking questions or figuring out what needs to be updated. You are the one that needs to update the getting started tutorial

Well, IDK, I can see why coolfile believe tutorials should be written by people who know rather that total newbies without a clue. I mean, somehow, it sorta make sense.

Of all my noobish questions on the spring forum this is probably the most embarrassing one. (but I also think it might not be a coincidence that the same stuff keeps coming up.)

So, how does one edit the wiki? More precise: how do i get to the point that i could start doing so? Don't tell me that i already can because a wiki is open. Then one would overestimate me regarding this issue. What buttons do i have to click on and where are they? Although, I'm trying to learn stuff, I'm a very user-end-person and also only human.

@ coolfile and Deutscha:
Tip: Don't limit yourself to the wiki. Searching the forum can be just as helpful, if not more so. One could even claim that information on the wiki often originated from a forum conversation.

first i'm here:
http://springrts.com/wiki/Special:Userlogin
then i click this line
Click here to create an account.
And then i'm being redirected here:
http://springrts.com/phpbb/index.php
that doesn't seem right...

to be sure i tried using name and password i use for the spring forum, but that didn't work either.

Either i'm a UltraNoob or i cant edit the wiki (or both :-) )

Thanks for all replies. Ok, I have added my comment into the page. Actually, I don't know how to solve this problem yet, still keep trying...

There has been talk about facilitating new modders, by 'shipping' Spring with content preventing new mods not to work.
Read here
The idea seems not (yet?) supported by every one.

In the mean time there are also initiatives to make mods to get modders started (IIRK: ABC-mods, Dummie-mod, Mod Starting Kit) mainly featuring an mostly empty but working mod, ready to put your own stuff in. Last time i checked these initiatives were on hold, though.

But here is a link to one that should work with new-non-startunit-spawning spring versions.
This one is provided by Arch.

Or even better: Someone could create a video tutorial for mod/game development in spring :D
