Anymore info you need just ask me ;)

I am pretty sure there is a license agreement for using those tools. Probably proprietary as in you cannot use them outside of spore.

But there is the thing that... People don't automatically know your using there stuff... This community is quite closed and unless some rats me or someone else doing it.. Then this Community is breeched..

But I don't think to many people will care about making a non-profit very lower player game.... Plus EA headquartars Canada is like right near where I live I can phone them up and ask permission...

If you can give me one good solid reason I should do that for you, I will consider it. Otherwise just give it a crack yourself, it's *your* 'project.'

And bob is meaning "Make your own models."

Oh one can export the spore creature geometry alright, but if you look at how spore creature geometry actually works, you realise you'll end up stuck with 1 solid piece of geometry for the body. Its not that theres no way to seperate the parts. Rather the majority of it has no parts to seperate to begin with!

plus spores models are procedurally generated so chances are that they arent properly UV mapped if at all, dunno how spore applies textures

So.. It would be possible to make them into Spring Models is what your saying (I lol'd at Friendly----Emote----- Dance, Roll, Bounce :P)

But a reason you should test this..Is if it works you can create some pretty awesome games using it! The Amount of Cool stuff I have seen on spore could easily top anything a modeler can do in the same time!

spore is really fun to make creatures with ^^ i can attest to that

however the units in there are a fair jump from what the spring engine is able to do currently in terms of animation... we dont have that nifty stuff like bones, mesh deform, etc

basically you can make robots. but, if you're clever, you can simulate "natural" looking animations like running and movement. the problem is that the basis of these movements is very different from how spore and many other games work

i could see if you were able to export the model from blender without the animations, you could do some creative slicing and editing of the model to make it compatible with spring. you'd have to code the animation yourself, or modify an existing script.

edit : to me it seems like a lot of work

Why should *I* test this as opposed to *you* testing this? You want it done? Go get it done.

PressureLine makes a good point, if a little brusquely. Fenrirr, if you start work on testing it, we'll all be glad to help you if you have problems and answer your questions and give advice, but we're not doing your work for you. :P

mesh deform <3 ;_;

only thing i would suggest u to do, is to make creatures in spore, make screenies from all angles and recreate them urself in 'normal' program using background image.

*I* don't have experience (Much at least) In modellers judging by your apparent ego I can tell your skilled in Blender or Wings3d... So maybe *YOU* can try it out for the benefit of the community

most ppl who actually know what to do, and how to do it are busy with own projects (including pressure). thats why community needs YOU to do stuff ;)

also, im pretty sure its almost impossible to do what u ask for, there is reason why almost all games dont have folder called 'models' in obj format (heil spring). devs just try as hard as they can to disallow u to /steal/borrow/copy w/e their ideas.

Don't insult people while demanding that they help you rip content out of a game.

We don't need creature creator, we have the ability to make our own better content.
