Spring RTS Engine

Can we have a widget that spots commanders? I hate popping veins on scouting runs to search for commanders as the scout planes fly over. I tried modifying the antinuke spotter widget but it doesn't work often if I have already scouted the commander before, and overall I don't want to be spamming points. Can there be a tiny interface widget that draws a big circle around enemy commanders / decoys seen and notifies only you?

Afaik this already exists (I remember it being in BA this time last year), it was just annoying, because EVERYONES widget would drop a marker on the com when it was spotted.

This already exists, it is just uber-annoying, because EVERYONE's widget would drop a marker EVERYTIME on EVERY unit with isCommander tag.

Or maybe one that doesn't drop points but just notifies you?

Well, you could have a custom visual notification system which would simulate points only for yourself, but that seems unnecessarily elaborate.

Well, I was thinking it would sort of behave like the thingy where if someone places a point thats out of your view, it will give an arrow at window edge, with the label "Enemy Commander." Only here, when it's in screen it would draw a huge circle around enemy com so you won't miss it.

The function that adds points defaults to adding them locally only, so you would only be notifying yourself.

Besides, this stuff is ancient, a couple of people made a couple of different widgets that would have the functionality you're looking for.

Zoom out and look for com icon. It stands out.

I'm sure a widget exists to do this tbh. That problem where multiple points (by every player that has the widget) were placed has long been fixed.

And notifying just you takes away from the functionality; you want your teammates to know as well (if they don't have the widget).

I have the same experience thought; i editted the antinuke widget to spot almost anything of interest and it works great, except for comms. Sometimes it points, sometimes it doesnt.
