Unemployed, Suggestions?

So I'm currently in the process of trying to find a job in Ottawa Ontario... It's a faint hope but does anyone know of anyone hiring?

Also, random discussion of a moderately helpful nature, possibly containing suggestions, would be accepted.

I have worked as a ASP.NET, access, MS SQL Server developer and a internet technical support specialist... I like reading, playing board games and video games. I need to make at least 2000 CAD a month to afford to live where I am now.

Move to Mississauga. ASP.Net coders are in high demand there.

Unfortunately, then you'd be in Mississauga.

Work for the federal government.

Unfortunately, then you'd still be in Ottawa.

Ottawa, eh? Once you have the job and can afford to eat out, go to the Singapore restaurant on Carling, across from the cinema. Everything there is absurdly delicious.

Looks like I have an interview tomorrow... but I am going to need to prove my ability to communicate in french.

Unfortunately I have not spoken, regularly, in almost 7 years... so today my goal is to shotgun a french brush up... so far I'm listening to french CBC radio... but I was wondering if any of y'all french speakers would be willing to attempt to communicate in french with me on skype or something and tell me how awful I am... perhaps you could pretend you are interviewing me for a job or something... this would hopefully be entertaining to you.

You've been unemployed for a damned long time, haven't you? Why aren't you working a part-time joe job while you hunt?

Nothing wrong with pushing shopping carts at the Loblaws while you look for better employment.

I've been receiving free government money because I had a kid in the last year, this money runs out at the end of the month... I have also applied at grocery stores and book stores and will taker them in the interim... it just wouldn't be my preference.

Making money over the internet? Sounds phishy to me.
How about instead mining peoples brainbugs? You can create a insurrence that never pays: You sell people burgerl-insurrance, that only pays when people dont hide there keys beside the door, and dont leave windows or doors wide open- in other words never. However it will sell like fresh bread, because human beeings have such pretty ilusions of what they are capable, in everybody there is a security super heroe...

How did your jobinterview went, Sinbad? Good, or do you enter that shit part of life, were you for the familys sake sacrifice and burry your dreams, and start working overtime in a boring/brainless job, just to avoid the "im- going- back- to- my parents- place" scene?

I always found those "evil-homo-sapiens-polluting-your-place" speaches of enviromentalists amusing, because everybody would nod, and everybody would have a gf and a family breathing down his neck, who if encountering private economic difficulties, would make sure all hell breaks loose. Although i can not contribute to your jobsearch, you have my sympathy with your situation.

Yeah. the interview went well, I got the job, woot, start on the 20th... I can't really say I'm burrying my dreams for my families sake because my dream is to own an arcade/gamestore/internet gaming lounge/coffee shop that hosts D&D and other board game nights and the occasional geek friendly concert... which is sadly unrealistic until I have a crap load of money.
