Windows XP Client
Linux x86 Client

I am not sure how most people play Spring, but something has changed in recent releases and we cannot play the way we used to. Please help us understand the proper way to play in this environment.

My two sons and I play on a local server in our home. One of us hosts a lobby TAServer.jar, and we all Springlobby into it. One of us then hosts a game, we like XTA and BA. We setup one or more bots and my sons and I are all allies. We then start the game and our commanders start in appropriate places (we typically use fixed locations).

Today we updated (we haven't played in months) and set up our game and when the game started our commanders did not show on the map we could not hit Ctrl-C to get to our commanders. We played with all sorts of options including other options for commander positioning such as choose in game. But nothing will place the commanders so that we can start the game.

Can some one shed light on this problem for us?

Thank you

Julian

Sounds like you need to get the latest versions of your mods of choice. Which should be found in their respective subforums.

there are certain maps, smoths newest ones being some of them, that dont work in the usual way with mods that require commander starts. something to do with "gaia" units i expect

Sounds exactly like that bug with coop mode, but I think that one got fixed

We downloaded the latest XTA and it worked, apparently our version was too old. We will try BA later.

Thanx
