Spring RTS Engine

i have a nividia 8600 gts 256 mb with latest drivers
with an intel core duo 5.6 ghz
2 gigs RAM
windows XP

I have been playing the old TA for quite some time now on the MAD TA unit pack, and i decided to download ta spring after seeing some quite good clips of it on you tube because the graphics where quite impressive so once i had installed spring on to my comp i decided to put the settings on very high every time i do this the terrain textures turn to black and i have a low frame rate on every map i go on but the units stay the same but if its medium or lower settings it is fine and i can see the terrain textures how can i fix this i need help, also how do i change team to core sorry im a bit of a noob

try newer and older drivers for your GFX card.
(are you sure you got a 5.6GHz dual core? )

im worried about changing drivers as that might effect the other games i play when u change drivers is it permanent ,also my card is not the new GTX range its the old 8 series card that came out 3 yrs ago. About the processor its 2X 2.3 GHZ its 5.6 GHZ all together

(and no, changing the driver is not a permanent thing)
