Springdownloader for linux?

It seems that SpringDownloader is the most popular and complete lobby for spring (correct me if I'm wrong), but is there a way to get it on linux? I'm not afraid of a little command-line compiling.

SpringLobby is most popular lobby atm.
It works on linux.

SpringDownloader linux support was aborted due to lack of linux maintainer and hate of mono.

They have a Delphi compiler for Linux! Anyway, what's the dominant lobby right now? Is it SpringLobby?

Oh. So if springlobby is the main one, why do we even have these other lobbies? TASC and SD and such.

Springlobby is:
1.Buggy
2.Slowly maintained

and we have people here or want to make a better alternative. In my opinion its a good thing either way as the multiple lobbies creates a little competition for improvement.

I agree, but by Spring 1.00 release I think we need to have one lobby officially endorsed by the engine devs, and that comes prepackaged with spring.

Well SL(and SD due to the old downloader prompt) are prepackaged with spring already. However, I don't think that should really matter, since it should be in the hands of the game maker to decide which lobby they wish to use.

True, but it would be nice if all of the games were distributed through the lobby. Like Steam for Spring, but without all the nasty DRM. And cross-platform.

Hmm...well, if you have SL or SD, you can go get the games yourself(much like Steam), else its not beneficial to the game makers in this case. It would make more sense to have their preferred lobby installed with their game.
