If you got with the suggestion of changing the crosshair to a big icon:
- Don't forget that /cross 0 is vital to get clean screenshots.

Missing options:

- Middledrag with smoothscroll
- Zoom out then zoom in

in order of frequency:
click middle mouse
zoom (also to get overview of game)
drag middle mouse
minimap
tab
keyboard

In my haste I voted too quick and forgot I can choose more than one (multi polls are so rare). For final results add 1 to smoothscroll.

I use middle mouse click (on minimap) and middle mouse drag (smoothscroll).

I zoom to watch effects.

I minimap, and edgescroll mostly although I sometimes mouse drag and keyboard.

The question is not if you zoom in and out, the question is if you use zooming as a replacement for scrolling like Tab-View is.

Scrollwheel zoom and window edge for me.

I generally don't need to scroll. I just zoom far enough out to see everything at once.

I normally scroll by clicking middle button, but I made a widget that binds TAB to switch between my comm and my base, whichever is further from my current position - which makes most scrolling needless.

Looks like almost everyone uses zoom to scroll around. I use it in combination with keys, and because zooming out speeds up the scroll speed, if i want to get somewhere fast.

Note that i never use tab though, and i bet a lot of other people dont either. I doubt many of those votes use zoom as their only way to get around: I'm surprised to hear that google -doesnt- scroll though. o_O

I used to use keys because when I first started Spring i was used to Starcraft, but eventually I forced myself to learn smoothscroll, which was a pita at first but after two dozen games or so I learned to love it.

So smoothscroll+zoom for me, or minimap if it is a really large distance.

Wait, i dont use keyscroll in Starcraft (at least, 2), because i have to use my keyboard for keybinds. Only reason i use it in CA is because i dont have keybinds for most stuff (and i set the basic defenses and econ to cycle through on 'cntrl l' and 'cntrl m' respectively which are both by the arrow keys anyway) and it would be impractical to set them up (too many units).

You get something similiar in league of legends, your hands are always on the left side of the keyboard (I should try setting up wasd, or at least, szxc movement and see if i can get that to work. I tried wasd in spring once but rebinding stop, d-gun, self-d, attack, wait and select all was just infeasible).

I voted zoom and minimap as when I scroll this is how I scroll. I very rarely use tab when playing.

I mostly use middle click, because I played spring in windowed mode and didn't want the mouse locked inside the window... just got used to it.

Do you really mean middle click SWITCH? You click once to switch to scroll mode, scroll and then click second time?
Or do you mean middle drag - where you hold middle, scroll and release?

switch. it's common for me to have mouseclicks/minute over 60 :)
