Spring RTS Engine

after describing the game to a friend i decided i wanted to start playing again. when i stopped playing i believe the client was V0.69 i think?

anyways, i tried logging into my old account and it wouldn't work, tried registering a new account, got eh pop-up saying that it's ready to go, but couldn't login.

there anyway to recover a password or user name to double check i entered everything right?

I'm not sure about recovering your user name/password

but just try registering again and see what happens...

also what client are you using?

Yes, but no one can help you if you don't mention your new username.

Wouldn't it be reasonable to have an optional email field for those who want things like news updates, password recovery and the like?

I've mentioned a non-optional version of this in the past and it seemed like most people were in agreement that it would be a good idea but it never really happened.

Maybe making it optional would be more useful than harmful?

After registering just wait a couple minutes before you log in, once the registration works you'll get a popup telling you so. Should be instant but often times it takes a few minutes.

Server rankings are meaningless. One-stripers can be good and gold stars can suck. If you get kicked for something as useless as your server ranking they might as well kick you for your country flag or how many letters are in your name. You're better off joining a different room.

An awful lot of BA hosts use rank limits. It's hard for a new player to find and manage to play with players of their skill.

there are 3 different lobbies now: springdownloader, tasclient, springlobby. maybe one of the others work for you, although all do fine for me.

do not worry about the rank, join an xta game, at start upgrade commander and just dgun all enemy commanders. people will think you are a pro using a new account (smurf)
