Spring RTS Engine

RIG:
OS: windows 7 64-bit
GC: Nvidia GT 220
CPU: intel core i5 750 @2.66ghz, OC'd to 2.8ghz.
Spring version : 0.78

Game details:
-Players: Single player
-Map: Mearth_v4.swf
-Mod: Balanced annihilation V7.12
-AI: 0.9 AAI

Other Details:
-When I click start it a small black screen appears for half a second, which then dissappears. Then nothing happens.
-If I keep clicking start the window freezes.

current spring version is 0.81.2.1.

on crash, always attach infolog.txt as a file to your post.

-How an I update spring? to the current version?

on this site, click on Download (top right), and reinstall with the installer.

if after this, it still crashes.. infolog is in the main directory where you installed spring.

Spring updated to 0.80, game still not starting.

I don't know why or if i'm just being a noob here, but there is no infolog.txt file in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Spring\

There is a changelog.txt with the route:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Spring\docs\changelog.txt

latest version is 0.81.2.1 ...
but i guess you have updated to that, and just typed the wrong version here.

Could you please give some details about your system?

infolog would be somewhere in userspace

try this: edit -> preferences -> spring
there's a checkbox called something like: use old(alternative?) launch method

if it's on, set to off, if it's off set to on, then press apply and try again

if it doesn't work with either, set back the original value before trying other stuff

YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSS! ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!
However, the only problem now is that no matter how many bots I add to the game, it ends about 3-4 secs into starting.

I've used the search tool but nothing has came up. involving infolog.txt

you have to have it somewhere if you got in-game (what you described).
search for infolog.txt again, on all hard drives.

What you described (game ending after a few seconds), suggests that the AIs failed to initialize. This usually indicates that a config file is missing. With BA, i recommend using RAI or KAIK (for a start), as they do not require config files.

If i try to run game, allways get black screen, and rolling circle, like computer is busy.

In multiplayer, i hang on at conection to server.

latest BA is 7.12, you used 7.04.
Very likely, this is not the problem you are facing though.

Ok today i try all from beginning.

I get black screen, very slowly load, and then see menu, but cant do anything, even with arrow keys


Can You tell me what does that means at version 0.81.2.1 "multi-threating executable" - maybe my hardware is not up to date?
