Windows Seven vs Springlobby/TASclient

So here's the deal. I recently got this brand new computer running on windows seven, and i was all "yay let's play spring with graphics on high !" and i did for a week and everything was good. Then i leave home for a week and when i come back, here's what happens.

When i attempt to start SpringLobby, it crashes after a few minutes without explanation, windows gives me a message saying "this program ceased to work, looking for a solution", and then "this program ceased to work, cannot be repaired, clic here to close program".

So i figured i'd try with TASclient. The loading screen pops up, and when it's "creating windows", i get the same error message from windows, and a message from TASclient saying "Access violation at address 007AC458 in module TASClient.exe. Read of address 00000324"

So what do ?

for tasclient, first be sure you have the latest version (from the download page above) then start it with "-debug -log" parameters, it should create a tasclient_start.log file in the tasclient dir, copy paste its content on pastebin.com and post the link, do the same for tasclient_err.log (not sure about the names)

You can also try SpringDownloader, it has built in mini lobby.

I use SpringDownloader (and develop) in Windows 7 x64 and have no problems. Please let us know if it works for you.

but its a mini lobby. doesnt do everythings...

I had a similar problem in windows 7 x64 ultimate. Springlobby silently failed, and tasclient gave me error screens that ran up and down my screen (which would have made a cool screensaver but was not cool enough to prevent me from wanting to play spring). I fixed the problem by deleting spring lobby from the universe and pmming satirik to updaet, then redownload and BAM it worked.

Fix it with enlarged fonts finally, please.
