NAT traversal, nobody joins me

I like hosting first because I can have small games and I can play them to the end.
In 16 player ffa I can spam a few light tanks and then sooner or later get anihilated.

Im on a campus now and have to dial in with a vpn client so I cant forward ports so I have to try nat traversal.
Unfortunately nobody joins me so I cant even try that.
The connection would be great because i have a lot of bandwidth and I also have a great ping in other games.

I think people dont join because of the nat traversal warning sign or they even filter these hosts out.

Is there some way around this so I dont have this sign or should I just wait very long until someone joins me?

Have you tried asking someone to try join your battle? Can anyone join your battle?
If they can join, it's just likely that no one really cares about your battle. You can ask players to join your battle, because I doubt anyone has a problem with NAT Traversal. Even though I have no router nor modem, NAT Traversal still works for me.(802.11g wireless USB card)

If players can't join your battle, try a relay host with no NAT Traversal enabled.

The thing is when I host from somehwere else without nat traversal my room fills within minutes.

Sure I could ask people from the friends list but I dont have that many that always one of them is online.

What is that?

it has a slight chance to implode the galaxy, but usually it should work just fine.

as said, relay hosts work surprisingly good now.
I think people dont join because of the nat traversal warning sign or they even filter these hosts out.
probally. while most players are quite friendly/patient it sometimes is just to much to wait for another routernoob to get his stuff set up if you just want to play ;)
