Spring RTS Engine

Like OMG I cant believe it, Ive been away from spring for about 6 months and Spring Lobby still sucks.
What makes it worse is that it is a hassle to find where to download a good working lobby client.
QT showed good promise but looks like it hasn't been updated in 8 months.
TAS has always been good but bugger me if I could find a link to download the latest version.
And as for spring lobby, why doesn't the download manager work properly yet. And why cant I join games if I done have the map. I mean I cant even do !maplink in that case.

Come on devs get it togeather.

And yes I know now that TAS download is located at the bottom of the download page. But this is not obvious enough.

springrts.com is primarily about spring. Download page there are 3 sections. First is about engine, second one has TASClient.

You forgot to flame about SD (it's a simple but functional lobby client, too).

The downloader in SL does work and you can join games without the map.

Yep. SL's downloader actually works quite well now. It's still bad about feedback in the event of failure, but it usually works, at least.

How does SL suck? If you explain how it sucks it can be changed, if not, your statement will be dismissed out of hand.

In regards to the download page, yes I heavily agree it could be a lot better displayed.

Instead of a "wiki" like page, a page with clear and direct download links with perhaps project logos next to the download in question.

Most sites lay out their download page in a clear and non-tl;dr way.
The first site I stumbled across when looking for a good example took me about 10 seconds.

If scientists tried to determine the level of SL suckage they just wouldn't be able to... because it is INFINITE.

I once made a thread with a pretty big list of reasons why SL sux but that was a while ago, I must've thought of 100s moar reasons since then. none of em got fixed either

Random example:
I downloaded spring on this weird woman's laptop earlier, and I was like D: cuz SL is STILL the only option available in the 'lobbies' drop down menu of the spring installer thingy. Then once I installed it I go on it and it harrasses me with some error message which didn't seem to do anything then once I've gotten through all the fail that is SL and into a battle, I click 'download' and it just crashes.

So, as usual I had to resort to downloading TAS Client, I just couldn't endure moar SL fail. and in terms of looks TAS Client is liek so sexy but Spring Lobby is just aesthetically harmful.
