nice, use f5 before screenshotting next time, you don't want that ugly blue screen! =)

Very atmospheric. Can't tell much about the ground or heightmap though (not necesserily a bad thing, just can't comment on it)

I like the green hue, I was actually working on a swamp map inspired by the Everglades, the only problem I had was with adding grass, and I guess I wanted more swamp like features...like...Crocodiles

Looks like those bridges will easily clog up. Like over crude water, I'm afraid only air will be useable on such narrow passes.

Currently I'm re-doing the metalmap, so when that's done I'll post the minimap, heightmap, and metalmap, probably in a few hours. I'll upload the map tomorrow.

I've seen similar looking skies in real life:
Shitty camera, but whatever. It's all we had that night

Wee! you can get the map at
http://www.fileuniverse.com/spring/CorrosivePits.sd7. It's more-or-less like the previous pics I posted.
Here is also a picture of the minimap and a picture with the heightmap in it, like requested:

Enjoy!

I personally really like the skybox. I think it really adds to the map; its exactly the sort of sky I'd expect on an acid world...

Corrosive pits? So many thoughts, so many bad jokes, must resist.
Great looking map, I'm working on getting XP, and this'll be among the first maps I download.

I wasn't saying the sky was the rong sort... just the cloudes looked slightly to repetative and small to me, but as i said thats a personal preference...

Well, I haven't the slightest idea how to make custom skyboxes, or I would have made it almost completely a black thunder-cloud type of sky, with sickly green sky peeping through maybe here or there. I tried to do my best with the cloud-scape generating tags though anyways, and I liked the effect better than anything else I tried. Oh yeah, if you don't have High-res clouds turned on, it seriously sux0rs, I mean really bad...
I'm glad some of you guys like it, but I was wondering what you all thought about the bridges and how they actually worked out in-game? I widened a couple of the ones that were really iffy crossing-wise, but I don't know how traversible the map is at the moment.

The map has been updated with a few small fixes:
1.) the atmosphere was lightened up a little because I thought that, in retrospect, it was a little too dark.
2.) the metalmap (F4) has been changed slightly, mostly it's just been made darker to reflect the actual metal concentration (read: not much).
3.) The Geothermal distribution has been fixed to what I intended it to be originally, there are many more vents, and they are more evenly placed.

Unf...
1) Please don't hotlink to files on FU, link to the ?p=showitem&ID=XXXX page instead. Then FU will track the # of downloads your map receives, and your link is guaranteed to always work, even if...
2) Choose the right category when uploading Spring files. You see your URL, and you know what I mean. It's annoying to have to resort those manually.
3) Minimap, minimap, minimap, even for new versions, dammit.
Thanks.

Alright, the fixes have been made. I edited the link and uploaded a minimap. The new minimap is what it actually looks like in-game, as opposed to the last one which didn't have the atmospheric effects factored in.
