Playerlist design

Designing a new playerlist:
playerlist.png
Team blocks with players would be expanded / minimized by ctrl + leftclick. Number next to team 'name' is ally id.
Playerinfo displayed from left to right: id, name, ping, cpu.
Name would have player color, ping and cpu colored from green to red.
Whole playerlist draggable with middle mouse button, fades away when mouse is not over / near it.
Thoughts on minimizing it further without losing numeral value display?

What about if you asked the user the maximum height they wanted the playerlist to ever reach in the widget, then if the list was ever about to over that height, it would simply shrink the text size until it fits?
Don't really bother me though with a nice 26"

interesting ideas. My solution is to just bind it to a key (I use H since its also a resource/unit sharing menu)

draggable UI items are fucking annoying. Make it like the LolUI was done: menu where you can edit them.
Still i would prefer you to do it perfectly at the first time, so we dont have to edit it at all

I'm sorry? Why would they be annoying? To me they're more of a blessing than anything else.

make it dragable in ctrl+f11 and i like the minimalistic design (maybe make a fitting ressource bar and stuff)

I like the customizability, functionality, and the no-nonsense minimalism. I dont like the color scheme though.
How will it display a FFA game with 16 teams?
Collapsing speclist ftw.

Teamless players (1 player teams) could make up a team block of their own.

yeah... once i lost my commander because i clicked my resource bar instead of commander... was a hell of job to get that resource bar out of my mouse cursor. and when i did, it was too late.
i still see nightmares of that day.

Do you just wave your mouse all around the screen pressing mmb?

I gotta agree. I can't count the number of times I've gotten annoyed by accidentally dragging a UI item that I have no intention of ever, ever, ever moving.

mmb is used to rotate/move camera.

Oh, sorry, I assumed that Red/Lol or whatever UI you used was only tweakable through Ctrl+F11. Guess my standards are too high after using Ice UI for so long. Or maybe I should just lower my view of Red UI even more than it already is.
