You can easily make a new account, which isn't a problem
so ban is just an idiocy which stops you from playing at all, as autohost battles are the most played
(in autohosts)

and in your case making a new account usually just gets you banned again

If somebody joins an autohost with a different account in order to dodge a ban, report him to a moderator, who will set up a server-wide ban, if necessary.

So you're admitting to doing something that will give server administration reason to track your server usage and ban you based on your computer and internet identity? I'm not going to lie, we're not valve, we can't force you to pay 10 bucks to reset your ban, but we can definitely make it a DAMN hassle trying to get access to our systems.

IP range bans are very efficient, although they might affect some other innocent players (but unlikely with a small community like this). If you put a 255.255.255.0 ip mask ban, the perpetrator is very unlikely to come back.

I thought hosts can already IP ban? Why making smurfs to avoid ban on some autohost is still business of the lobby moderators? (as long as the said person does not DDoS or breaches any other rules in relation to the chat and lobby usage)

what? just admit it, your banning methods totally suck. I managed to get unbanned about 8 times back when I was 13/14 yrs old. Resetting my router fixed a lot of bans, then when Peet did IP range ban, ringing my ISP and requesting an IP change fixed that. Switching my hard drive once fixed a ban too o.O

and I'm still a total newb on computers, anyone half decent is pretty much unbanable

You're not banned from the forum when you get banned from lobby. I don't know if he's banned from lobby at the moment. I don't have a working lobby client installed on this machine at this point in time.

It's alot less effort for us to issue a range ban than it is for you to call up your ISP and get them to issue you a new address.
