Heightmap maxslope conection

Would be nice to have a prog that takes heightmap files and analyzes slopes.
A mapper would be able to give several slopes he is interested in and the prog would give out or somehow show where on the heightmap image there are bigger slopes than the ones specified(i suppose this would be done using colors to indicate what level of unpassability is at a specific location).
This would be very nice since you wont have to compile you're map over and over again for every little mistake.
If it was possible to also at the same time make a connection between the heightmap and the water levels you specify in mapconv and than bring out an image showing what will be covered with water on the heightfield that would be fantastic.
