orbital laser and other things

So i played nota for the first time last night. Had a few questions.
Are there shields in nota?
Is there anything to counter the orbital laser?
Is there a game type where if the command tower dies, i can keep playing?
I basically got pounded by artillery then an orbital laser took out my commander tower.
Other than the slightly sluggish econ i thought nota was pretty fun.

There are no shields.
The counter to the orbital laser is to go out and fight so your opponent doesn't get the 120,000 metal needed to build it.
Not sure about disabling commander ends, the explosion would normally kill your entire base anyway though so I'm not sure there would be much point continuing.

Only in small games on large maps do people regularly establish significant bases away from their commander, so I - in general - agree.

There is a modoption to turn off commander ends. It's a checkbox.

i usually disable comends in nota, usually you'll have many bases set up over the map
