Shift Clicking on units

I'd like to know why shift clicking on selected units doesn't deselect them like it did in OTA?

I'm just asking cause I used to do that to filter out certain units form groups where I'd A) accidentally incorporated the wrong units B) Wanted to exclude injured units C) I wanted to just leave someone back from something.

Mostly it's the first two reasons... The second reason I hear can be done with short cut keys, but so far I've only managed to deselect everything with my attemps at using manual shortcut key selections when I only wanted injured units to be deselected. And the 3rd reason's rare but it does happen.

Yep, it works just like windows for selecting files in regard to that ctrl/shift setup.

Shift-drag-click a group of files in windows. Ctrl-click a few of those selected files. Bam, deselected, and spring works the same freaking way :P

Maybe, TA let you do that with shift.

Thanks for the ctrl tip. Most RTS's use shift so I just assumed that if Spring didn't that function wasn't installed yet. I notice if you ctrl drag box it inverts the selection of units you have inside. SO if you have some of the units but not all selected, it selects all the ones you didn't have and deselects all the ones you did.

Is this detail in the wiki yet?
