Request- lower unit limit minimum

K, 500 units may seem ok for a 1 vs 1 or even a 2 vs 2. But I've been on enough Core Prime Industrial 4 vs 4 to see a jillion brawler swarm pussies with a jillion farks racking up the unit numbers to the point that half the players are so slow they dont even want to play.

So please can we make it so the minimum unit limit can go below 500?

min is 10, iirc....max is 5000

Could we have unit-specific limits? Like, you don't want metal extractors to count toward your unit limits, but you do want to limit your mobile army (for lag reasons, or to limit brawler swarms).

So you should limit defance too...if you have to attack wich has more defance than the max unit you can make...it can be hard :)

also... static buildings don't add to lag as much as moving units anyways, since much of it is caused by calculation paths and re-aiming weapons.

And the worst offenders concerning lag are those damn construction airplane swarms some people seem to like.
Damn, use farks, but dont slow the game down for everybody because you have to boost your gantry with 300 of them....

Aircraft swarms are easier to manage. iirc there was one mod with a very expensive and sluggish nanolathe aircraft specifically just for boosting constructions conveniently.

In Final Frontier there is a support Capitalship for either side that can dock other ships, has really strong nano capability, but moves like molasses in January.

on crutches! But i think that a unit specific limit would be great, expecialy if it was exactly like in TA (whith the slider bars and sutch). Try to make a 20 plane strong brawler swarm now! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!

Speaking of unit limitations. I've got a few things I've wanted to see:

1) Yes, I agree individual unit limitions are something I too would REALLY like to see again. (Perhaps in a text box instead of a slide bare between 0 and 99, or both.)
2) unit pictures for the TASClient's unit restrictor. I never memorized all the unit's code names so I have a really hard time finding what I want in that list.
3) a load/save for the TASClient's unit restrictions, where it saves to a file that doesn't get overwritten when the new version comes out. (Again like Old TA had.)
4) The ability to resort those unit names by something other than their code name. That'd be really nice..
5) The old grayed out icons for units that aren't shared by all players. Either that or a unit upload or something.

tanelorn: If you need nano towers, I've got some you can have.

It shows their in game name alongside their internal names, so that's not really a legitimate complaint :P

well, than maybe it should be sortable by type or at least name... Some people DONT know what strange abbriviations cavedog used for their units, and those list is quite long if you search a few units...

didnt read what he says, but, actually, the slider is too harsh when you reach low units count.

it goes 10 36 63 89...

can it go slower at low units count?

The sliders can be a pain in the hind-side if you want to get a nice particular number. I'd like it if there were text-boxes to accompany the sliders, for metal and energy too.
