Spring RTS Engine

We need a different map than DSD (delta Seige Dry) im getting tired of the same game over and over.

What we need is a map that is like DSD (south batle and north batle) with awesome terrain.My goal is to have another great map that is not DSD.

If anyone has suggestions or would like to show me a map please tell me.
P.S i am not a map designer and i dont know anything about creating it but if creators can look these ideas up we can make the "Ultimate msp".

How large does this map have to be? are we talking something about the same size as DSD? or something of http://www.springfiles.com/show_file.php?id=238 Epic proportions?

I would like something as large as DSD for 8vs8 max

idea: make it yourself.

idea2: do what forb is doing and make ripoffs of dsd.

There are numerous DSD-like maps. As mentioned above, Kappa Basin, LLTA Fortress, Nuclear Winter, Desert Siege, Tabula V2, Centerrock, even old Crossing_4_Final have DSD-like gameplay.

They won't get played because they aren't DSD. If you suggest them on a server, it'll get shot down because it's not DSD.

Know what I want? I want a DSD-like map that actually uses Spring's tiling engine so its filesize isn't pointlessly huge for an endless field of orangey-grey turf.

I find this thread utterly idiotic! Open your eyes dude! We are making new awesome maps all the time...

Also, There has been made billions DSD clones and remakes, etc. and none of those actually were good. What we should do is maps that has something new to give, with completely new ideas and concepts.

Then do it. If its good I bet it will be made by someone. Concept design is the most important point of the map and if you are able to invent something new and interesting, It helps a lot.

Usually anything above 20x20 will make it too epic thus breaking up the concept. So, I could argue, that very big maps just goes with more simple concepts than smaller ones...

Although, If the engine could handle bigger maps better and gameplay of mods would allow, I'd recommend making bigger maps because its easier to make them look good and realistic...

We need a new map format that allows for more than just basic heightmapping. (see: some of supcom2's maps.)
