They seemed to have removed supcomms only distinguishing feature; incremental resource spending. It's much better than pay when you start as it's easy to use when spamming.
Anyway all the best games have steep learning curves.

total war games have a very easy learning curve imo.
(played from shogun to medieval total war 2 online)
compared to other rts's
