I've searched on google and here and I couldn't find any link about how to upgrade to the latest version of springlobby under ubuntu 9.10.
As I have a lot of problem with springlobby under ubuntu, I'm hoping for a miracle. I currently have the version 0.23 that I downloaded from the Ubuntu Center Software a few weeks ago.

https://edge.launchpad.net/~spring/+archive/ppa

Basically: System->Administration->Software Sources->Other Software
Click "Add" and type:

Code: Select all

ppa:spring/ppa
Close it, let it reload, then it should just appear in update manager.

Also this thread inspired me to update http://springrts.com/wiki/Ubuntu_install

Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks, it worked. Sorry for the late reply, I wasn't aware I got a reply, I thought I'd be noticed by mail.
Again, thank you very much.

After following the guide for ubuntu 9.10 and updating the ppa I had to manually install spring-engine (sudo apt-get install spring-engine) to get it to update from 0.80.5 to the current version.

*Umm NVM forgot to do sudo apt-get upgrade

What if you have a proxy? I have Ubuntu 9.10 with SPRING installed with Add/Delete programs menu and a proxy. Can't I pass through it?
