Impossible "players".

I want to know the policy for banning players.
I mean, some players simply go from host to host and kill the game (kill their entire team, for example), insults (race, sexe and co)...
"players" like, say, "[ge]m4rc0l1n0" do probably more than casual jerk for push a lot of players in Starcraft hand. It's impossible to play when they are here : They don't allow it.

Yeh, there is the occasional player or two who go around just trying to fuck up everything as much as they can. Eventually they die out for a while until another one comes along.
The current one is [ge]m4rc0l1n0, he needs a perma-ban.
Popular fags of their time include:
MightySheep (Been brought to light)
BadgerMyBadger (Badger) (Is still around sometimes)
Knobhead (Is falling towards the light in a Ausie kind of manner)
Wombat (Just trolls now)(Bumbuddies with Bomba)
Bomba (Just trolls now) (Bumbuddies with Wombat)
Bobbelurman(Didn't ruin games intentionally but was a pro troll and also the worst Veteran)
Sefidel(Was mainly racist and stupid)(Still is stupid, still is racist)(Is now really shy and sensitive)
Emmanuel (The very definition of forum troll)(Banned)
So yeh, there are lot of guys who are total dicks in some way but most of them eventually lose interest in cocking shit up and now just play the game. I think most of them have received a ban (or 7) in their time.
/expect Wombat rage.
Edit: Oh and there is no policy for banning players. I've requested one at least 5 times but apparently there is none of the staff know where to draw the line in agreement so they just decided to leave it to the moderators opinions.
[ge]m4rc0l1n0 imo deserves a ban for a month. In another moderators opinion, he deserves a mute and in another's, a perm-ban (which isn't really permanent at all, it just sounds scary).
Some would even just totally ignore the situation and proclaim replays are fake and so no justice can take place.
Enjoy.

If it happened on an autohost, what about just sending a private message to the autohost admin ?
He has all the proofs (demos, chatlogs etc.) and can ban him easily from his autohost(s)...

In the history of moderation I do not recall a single time where somebody said the replay was fake.

Pretty sure it wasn't in that context, or I was joking. I remember talking about faked ladder replays, where somebody smurfs as a person with a similar name to try to smear them...
I might have been tired or something, but nobody can actually fake the results of a replay. There are false conclusions you can draw, which I probably referred to a few times as "faking" whereby somebody asserts that X player took over Y when it could be really anybody who took over Y. You can construct a replay from smurfs, that would be a false replay, but should be detected... though didn't we once get a replay somebody had changed the player data in?

Well, thinking in a very simple sense, I would think it would be possible to fake a replay, but it would take an awful lot of effort. Setting up players with the right names, making sure everything is like a normal game, with correct dates, accusations etc.
But then, who the hell would go to that sort of effort?

Eh, in theory it's possible to fake replays... but faking a replay to get someone banned would be an insane amount of work, and we'd probably be able to track it down pretty easy through log hunting.

I would suggest you guys clarify what you think 'faking' a replay means

It's actually very easy to change names in a replay, search/replace.

guys why make a post like this? You could at least pretend they are hard to fake, cause maybe uninformed trolls DONT KNOW THIS YET...

You don't need a forum post to know about this. Just read spring source code.

You don't need source code to know about this. Just reverse engineer the binaries.
