tribulex, I thought about your request until I realized how ugly that looks.

I'm using Iron at the moment, after using Chrome for a short amount of time and realising that the lack of adblock was really annoying. Iron is based off the Chrome source code, but has everything that phones home to Google removed, and a built-in adblocker. It's a bit buggier than Chrome, but a lot faster than Firefox, and the interface is chrome (i.e made of win).
Oh, and it also can use Chrome extensions :)

I've started using Chrome for google wave because it was buggy in firefox... I'm just more used to FF now I guess... is there a Twitter Client Extension?

also: I like menus... is there a way to get them in Chrome?

obviously havent actually tried chrome, else youd know theres a huge theme gallery thats changes chromes look even more than firefox personas do

Right now I have THE CLOUD OF LOVELINESS in my title bar, and on the new tabs page, theyre all floating on a hand drawn cloud

btw you can make firefox look like chrome, but its buggy and it just makes firefox's slowness uber obvious

I DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT HOW CHROME LOOKS.

let me reiterate: I want the ui to look like the pic I posted. When it does, phone me up and tell me to switch to chrome. Until then, stfu about firefox "slowness". Minefield pwns chrome in speed tests, and I have an actual modern computer so my cpu doesnt get hit at all.

I just ran tests on the latest nightly of both. They're both really fast. Chrome wins at startup speed, they both load pages very quickly, and they have comparably fast javascript engines (both are a bit faster than the other at certain javascript tasks).

memory usage isn't actually that different either.

Guess what? I have a screen, and that overhead is USEFUL. I dont want it all uncomfortably crammed into a tiny space. Also i dont really want my tabs on my titlebar.

But thats just me. I understand if you cannot afford an actual screen.

They aint crammed mr, there are actually fewer buttons, that are also mostly larger and better designed

I'm with trib on this one. I really really simply just do not care for how chrome is laid out.

WOO HOO I HAS AN ARMY.

Chrome is a great idea with a great design. It just does not suit what I do very well. My status bar gives me information. Also some sites I use require the status bar to be shows all the time as well. Who's next?

hmm what websites are they? Chrome always does show the status bar when necessary, and hides it when nothing is happening.

Without any extensions, there are only ever five buttons on show, with a 6th optional home button

The only time Chrome does not show a status bar is when the status bar is not being used for anything. If it's being fed information or updated it will be shown.

I doubt you'll switch because the process of switching in itself would be a hassle irrelevant of how well chrome works for you. The opposite is true though for Chrome users.

Firefox features > Chrome

/thread
Edit: Also, lack of obvious way to add extensions in chrome = fail.
