Krystal maps

Has there been any news about allowing land to reflect light?
This would allow to make very nice maps with ice or crystal floors.

thats why it aint easy, it has to be simple as ms paint to use, the simplier the moar it is used, the more it is used, the moar peopl annoy programmers into improving it. Thats why complex programs grow out of simple gadgets..

You ask for it, you'll get it (eventually):
NOTE: to keep the highlights under control (or have them show up only in those areas representing snow/metal/whatever) you will need to create at least a heightmap-sized texture. The specular component will be disabled by default if you don't provide one.
