Spring RTS Engine

When the spring lobby asks me to download an update and i click yes, i get this error message:


I don't know how to correctly translate this into english, but the language in thuis message is dutch. Any dutch person can translate this, or directly help me with this problem?

FYI, the message says (free translation, I don't recall the exact English phrase from Windows):

No program has been associated with this file. Create such an association using the module 'File associations' in the configuration screen.

I have the same problem when trying to update Springlobby, happens since a few versions, I have to update it manually. Don't know the exact English translation but the meaning is the same. (I am using Windows XP sp2)

Happened while trying to update versions 0.33->0.35, 0.35->0.36, 0.35->0.39 (I haven't updated manually from 0.35 yet).

I downloaded the Spring Engine yesterday and are asked if I want to update from 0.35 to 0.39 (attached SpringLobbyUpdate.jpg). When trying to update I get the same error as OP (attached SpringLobbyUpdateError.jpg).

How do you manually update it?

I've almost always had to manually update. Once in a blue moon it will actually work.

SpringLobby auto-update has never, ever, ever worked for me (Vista+UAC). Hopefully now that they've switched to a two-program approach (updater-app is seperate from main app now) it will work better, but there's still no luck.

I had this problem as well, used the manual update, everything's fine now. Someone should add a link on the download page, since the older version of the lobby doesn't work so well.

Running as Adminstrator didn't help, btw.


Windows 7 32-bit, UAC turned off, no antivirus or firewall running, windows defender, security center, action center, all that crap disabled. Reinstalling Spring doesn't solve the issue either.
