But inside are 4 posting in total, including the startpost.
So there are 3 replies.

So, uhm yeah how comes?

On a semi-related matter I noticed posts not being displayed right after I/someone else submitted them and yet the reply count went up resulting in the need to post twice yet seeing only one post.

Happened several times when a thread was passing a page and the post was supposed to be displayed at next page/last position on current page.

Knorke: The thread had a correct counter of 4, then I deleted a post from it and it went down to 2.

3 is approximately 3,01
3,01 is approximately 3,02
...
3,99 is approximately 4, so 3 is approximately 4

every time you round/approximate, you're losing accuracy

at a very low accuracy, yes three IS approximately four.
