Spring RTS Engine

I think we have to advertise Spring and make it more popular.

This will have a lot of advantages, e.g.:

• new, fresh players
• more designer, modders, scripters and so on -> new mods/maps; faster and better releases
• more people who can donate this project -> more possibilities (e.g. new servers, implement new ideas faster,...)

But how can we make this project more popular to get new players, scripter, modders etc.?

We've discussed the benefits and methods of advertising a hundred times on spring.

If you want a real answer to your question then:
Any way you want to. Just go out there and do it. We will be very grateful.

i can buy an advertisement in a german (local) newspaper when someone could make the design...

If it was an advertisment not about Spring but about Kernel Panic, would you still run it?

Is it a general purpose newspaper, or one geared toward video games?

first i thought about a general purpose newspaper, but a video game magazine is still better...

Kernelpanic is also ok, if you give me a short text about your game.

Which size will it be? (in cm x cm) So I can know how small the details will be.

Videos seem a good way to me. They show people the game and can be catchy at the same time.

i was thinking of posting on gametrailers to see if they maybe would review it.
but then i got confused when i saw that apparently you can't post threads until you're like level 1 in the ranking sustem so i said fuck it.
IMO if they reviewed it that'd be a pretty good advertisement

Spring isn't a game. If we could post individual titles there, but even then, we lack campaigns...

perhaps we could ask them to review a few popular mods? as for the lack of SP i suppose that's a con for us but still, multiplayer is awesome.

I don't think we could have them review the mods... maybe the games, like Kernel Panic, 1944, Gundam, PURE, etc...

right
