Animation, concept art, environment modelling.

I have worked as an intern in a AAA game studio, just finished my degree in animation, now looking for freelance.

Pretty neat stuff. I could have sworn I saw that head somewhere before...

Although good luck trying to sell yourself here. A lot of new content here is pretty much all community driven and open source. Also, the animation and modeling formats are extremely outdated. (no mesh deformation and no ide's for animating, all of it is done line by line afaik)

Our animation uses script driven per-piece rotation and movement and doesnt include mesh deformation at all (positively primitive, i know).

Concept art is helpful, but not without modellers and texture artists to produce something that can go ingame.

Our environments are heightfield based landscapes, though environmental modelling could probably apply to making buildings in an RTS.

So, your skillsets are probably not ideal for the engine.

Also, nobody here is making money (Except perhaps Argh?), everything you see here represents thousands of man hours by enthusiasts passionate about making games, and distributing them free to the public. Its not the best place to earn an income, then, and those of us with contacts in the game industry would probably be working in it.

If you want to contribute your free time to working with any of the projects here you should feel free to jump in though.

Hey waronmars, we're sorry that we're too broke to hire you. You're great at what you do. If I had a budget, I'd be more than happy to interview you. Your demo reel was, to my eye, informative and impressive. You really have a good grasp of how to convey feeling and motion, and it was edited well to demonstrate your strengths. Hopefully some of the Industry folks who mainly just lurk around here will want to talk to you.

That said, we're kind of a backwater- you'd have a lot more luck posting on places like ModDB (which I'm sure you're already trying, etc.). Best of luck.
