How's life @ Spring RTS

Hey Folks!

Ice is back (just hit & run.. sorry)
I'm sorry that my server has gone down, along with all the graphics, designs, screenshots, GUI things (the GUI monster probably ate it), and so forth.

Anyway, i would like to thank everybody for various mentions in various threads and topics. I really am kinda proud of what i did contribute and what others did and could use/learn from what i did.

I'm now way too busy with my own design company, which already has 3 employees and designs about anything (though.. no games, or game-content YET!)

I wish the community a good future and hope everyone can/will continue with the opensource Spring project! I have been very happy that i put all the time in Spring as i did.

If there are special requests for my designs or graphics i did made for Spring, please let me know @ info@ixstudios.nl

Hahah great!

The most fun part is, that i just now understand what DSD is, LOL.
I am very happy to hear that the map still stands and gives phun to a lot of people.

(i just saw a remake of DSD wich a kind of mirroring and 8 rocks thing... sweet).

Anyway, good luck, and if you guys need some of the screenshots back (that were on dagdief.nl) just ask... i'll check my backup files to find some of them back.

Dreadfully, im not working for some great big-ass gaming company...
Well.. the option is always possible :)

However the work i do now, is also great, and also involves a lot of designy-things.

You guys here still (very) active with Spring? Or did the SupCom monster eat up a lot of members...? ( i must confess, i played it euhm.. a lot, and now looking forward to SupCom2)

I always wanted to ask you how you made those cylindrically mapped fine, 1 pixel wide black detail lines on most of your maps? The ones that marked height changes.
I have bryce, carrara and quite a few other tools.

Advances in GUI: The UI Meltrax made based on your concepts became the only decent Lua GUI framework for a number of years, but in the last few months, a number of new GUI projects have reached maturity! :o

Hai, I remember doing a Google search a while back for you after I found out someone with the name made DSD and some C64 Remixes that I've listened too countless times. Would that happen to be you or am I getting over exited?

woohoo! i can actually give behe a tip instead of the other way around :D hell has frozen over and pigs fly past my window.

i managed to emulate the black lines; i loaded my heightmap into gimp, and played with edge detect.

Feel free to contribute more if the madness takes you. How is your company progressing? You know, you can make a commercial game on this engine, though I doubt you're focusing on an RTS project at this point. :wink:
