Spring RTS Engine

This thread isn't in response to any recent uses of this term. I just, however, realized that some people I've had the bittersweet pleasure of arguing with have used the term itself, without the correct context, as a straw man. Very interesting.

Imo, the term itself is stupid. If the argument doesn't hold water, then it doesn't hold water. Don't designate it it's own ridiculous term.

I read it, but I still think that euphemisms for saying "Your Argument Sucks" are stupid.

So I should just say "Your Argument Sucks" and leave it at that? Cause if it sucks it just sucks, simple.

Pretty much, and then we debate on the argument. See? Easy peazy!

No it's "Your Argument Sucks Because...", it's important to point out where fallacies have occured and how to avoid making them or counter somebody using them.

BTW:'Your argument sucks because...' isn't the definition the page gives. It's more like
'I think pie tastes good, as it is creamy and sweet'
'I disagree, cream isn't that delicious.'

We were speaking more generally about logical fallacies, rather than this one in particular.

At this point, "Straw Man" has become a cliche.

Cliche refers to artistic works. Just because you're sick of hearing something doesn't make it a cliche.
