Spring RTS Engine

From some time I'm having a big problem playing spring. It very constantly crashes just in the middle of the game. the view freezes for a while than the black screen comes over and i see Microsoft's window "Spring.exe doesnt response, close it?" Pulling script file on the exe file doesnt work too. I heard from my clan mate that he has the same problem. Once upon time we played together and we had the crash in exacly the same time, so it must be something in game that crashes the aplication. It happens very constantly (1 of 3 games always crashes), so its very anoying.

Any suggestions?

if the infolog does not show a stack trace, and updating/downgrading video drivers, and disabling all Lua does not help, then you could try to run a debug build of sprign in a debugger (GDB), or play a demo file of a game that froze in a GDB session.
Also check what hardware/drivers you have in common with your mate.

That works for me, but now Im having anoying constant luaui crashes in the game. When I do lua reload it reloads but works for seconds than creashes. I cant play like this, cuz lua controls all widgets etc. BTW my clan mate has a very different hardware and software so its not a problem.

In case not to write a new topic I would like to present you another bug that I recieve sometimes. I dont know how and when but sometimes I cant write anything in the game chat instead of some interpunction. Letters just dont show in the chat.

disabling all Lua stuff is something you have to test anyway, as i wrote it if you want to find the error, you have to play some games without it, even if you miss comfort.

still I cant find any couse that crashes the game, and now the crashes are back but in another form. Now I dont see any black screen but the game just freezes and I must close it using task manager.

And what with the writing bug?

Guys I really need help here how should I be able to find any casue that crashes the game? How should I seek?

perform the standard procedure:
- update gfx drivers
- delete springsettings.cfg
- disable widgets
- use lowest settings

I'v just updated my GFX to the newest driver version. Now the crash gives a cause

It says (in translation):
"Monitor driver stopped it's work, but recover"

And I cant reconect using the script ;/

graphic: geforce 9500gt
CPU: intel core quad 4x2.4
OS: Vista home basic

i got same problem, my game crashes in 50% of cases near 12 min (sometimes random)... what is funniest i started having these problems after installing zervers spring.exe for multithread :D... i copied normal exe back, problem disappeared for few days but now its massacre :<

This is just fucked-up, I cant go like that. Almost all the games are unplayable because of crashes, writing bugs, this engine really needs some fixing. .............. O.O

Sounds like you need to update your monitor drivers. Also, in many cases problems like these aren't a problem with spring so much as they are with shitty drivers crapped out by half ass manufacturers.

Ok, now we have some trace, don't know what was the cause but this time my game didn't crashed (I could continue playing, thge following window apeared:




This is very sthange, cuz I have just updated the gfx to the newest drivers version and I have the newest direct-x. Any ideas how to solve it?

That's really weird because I have a 9600gt and have never had any issues... Hmm, check out drivers from http://www.guru3d.com I've generally had no trouble with drivers I've gotten from there.

What are the specific specs of the card you have? Is it one that goes by then name but actually has really stripped down features (they're definitely out there)?
